Rajasthan is the jewel in India's crown. The powerful  fragrance of the old world charm, the feeling of absolute sovereignty, the exquisiteness of the architecture is what the state Rajasthan is known for. This state is devoted to a shower beauty of its colors - Jaipur is Pink, Jodhpur is Blue, Udaipur is White and Jhalawar is Purple. All of its cities have something unique to offer to the sights of the people. The majestic forts housing wonderful palaces and beautiful gardens are an ultimate treat to the eyes of everyone. Its vibrant and diverse culture leads it to be the superior of all states.


Rajasthan, known formerly by the land of the kings  and most preferably by Rajputanas. Rajasthan has bestowed legacies of pride and tradition by chivalrous Rajputs. It covers an area of 342,239 sq kilometer which is 10.4% of India. Rajasthan houses, beautiful havelis, charming palaces  had an amazing display of arts and architecture, courtesy of it being a princely state. Each individual kingdom of Rajasthan has a distinctive style of architecture and arts making it one of the most culturally diverse places in the world. Rajasthan is the complete package of different cultures, heritage, and beauty within it. Apart from all that it is also famous for its unprecedented stories of bravery and courage that makes state proud of its heritage.


The colors of Rajasthan are impossible to ignore and the effect of emerald green, canary yellow and fire-engine red turbans and saris is simply dazzling. In addition, stunning handicrafts and fine arts were developed and nurtured through patronage by the maharajas. Village life remains steeped in tradition but, just like the rest of India, the pace of change is accelerating.

Folk Music and Dance 


Each State has its particular folk culture. Folk dance of Rajasthan is “Ghoomer”. Folk Music is “Ragas”.Different groups perform different music. Some of the groups are Banjaras, Jogis, Mirasis and many more.


Food


There are many mouth watering cuisines in Rajasthan. It is famous for its spices and also its sweetness. ”Dal-Bati-Churma” is known for best Rajasthani food. Some other cuisines like Ker sangri, Ghevar, Feeny, Kachori, Rabdi and many more make the state pride of flavors.


 

Traditional Dress


The Rajasthani couture carries a lot of classic essence and uniqueness. Even contemporary fashion draws inspiration from traditional clothing with a fusion of modern adaptations. The women clad in bright and beautiful ghagra choli and odhni accessorized with heavy jewelry, Be it the ghagra or the cholis, they are never complete without matching set of jewelleries. On the other hand  men donning their colorful turbans and angrakhas defines their identity. Rajasthani Bandhani is the most famous cloth in all over India.

Festivals and fairs


In Rajasthan many festivals celebrate. Gangaur and Teej are the different festivals which are mostly celebrated in Rajasthan. Since the culture of Rajasthan has an eternal bond with camels, the state hosts a number of events to commemorate this bond throughout the year. Kite Festival, Desert Festival, Pushkar Mela, and Jaipur Literature Fest are some of the most appealing and colorful annual festivals in Rajasthan.


Handwork


In the Rajasthan you will explore with different clothes, jewelry, carpets, decorative items which are made by people of Rajasthan. Everything is so different and beautiful and antiques.Carpet is made from the hand-knitting techniques.Decorative items made by clay, red sand, Paper Mache, Minakari and many more.


Craft and Architecture


The rulers of Rajasthan were patrons of art, crafts, and architecture; the opulent palaces, glorious forts, intricate metal works, textile printings, mirror works, etc. are lively examples of this. Be it the opulent architecture, miniature paintings, handicrafts, or even the art forms used in puppetry, culture of Rajasthan is truly inspiring for the entire world and a true delight for the eyes of the beholders. Tie-dye works, zari work, embroidery, mirror work on clothes, use of precious metals, and other metal works are some of the indigenous forms of Rajasthani traditional form of art and crafts.




Rajasthan is one of the most picturesque places of India. From fairy-tale palaces to epic forts and from colorful festivals to wildlife encounters, this is India at its vibrant best. This state's strong loyalty to tradition and culture is truly remarkable. I have some amazing kind of relation with Rajasthan that makes me fall in love with that state again and again.  That love made me write this blog.
